Now Playing Tracks

Four or five guys got together and started trying to develop an affordable, but high quality turntable. They started a Kickstarter and their goal was $60,000, and they actually made $234,000 in pledges from the site. The demand is there. Looks simple, comparable to a ProJect. There is a lower end model selling for $187, and a higher end model selling for $279. The difference I believe is the acrylic platter and a better cartridge in the higher end model (though both have Ortofons, which I use, and mine sounds great). Looks cool, way better than some of the current turntables people are buying. This one foregoes things like USB, CD player, AM/FM radio, retro look to dedicate all of the table to just playing your records and making them sound good. Sure looks better than some of the offerings from Crosley and Ion. I’d buy one if I didn’t have an already fine and working Technics 1200 MK-II.
